Dr Ajay Meher
Ajay Meher is a Project Consultant for the RATIONS Trial. He completed his Masters in Public Health (MPH) from Savitribai Phule Pune University (former, University of Pune, Maharashtra) in 2017 after graduating in AYUSH stream (BAMS, Utkal University, Odisha).
He has been associated with the trial from the very beginning and monitors two districts for the trial with 28 field staff. He has made significant contributions the sub-studies to evaluate the dietary intake, body composition and handgrip strength in patients with TB and their house-hold contacts.
His past experience is rich and diverse and includes Health Programme Coordinator at Swasthya Swaraj Society, Kalahandi district, Odisha (consisting of the primitive and vulnerable tribal groups) and as a Medical Officer (AYUSH) at Jeying, Arunachal Pradesh with Karuna Trust. He managed, implemented, and monitored the Community Comprehensive Health Programme that included the vector borne diseases and tuberculosis, and providing medical care to patients.
His research interests include public health nutrition, maternal and child health and socially relevant issues of the vulnerable populations.
