Goal: To enable participants to get orientation in research ethics and publication ethics; help get insights into operational issues, and help appreciate application of ethical reasoning towards resolving then in social science research

Objectives:

  1. To appreciate the origins of research ethics discourse viewed from the historical perspective; to understand importance of ethics in social science research
  2. To appreciate foundational aspects of research ethics basics of research ethics and its relationship with law, human rights, and broad ethics principles
  3. To understand in-depth, select key notions, their operational facets and challenges involved;
  4. To get insights in to ethical matters relating to professional integrity with focus on publication ethics, misconduct, fraud and plagiarism

Course participants: Doctoral scholars, and faculty from NCDS and other academic institutes in Bhubaneswar
