Goal: To enable participants to identify and apply the methods of ethical reasoning to social science and health research
Objectives:
- To understand the variations in approaches to research in social science disciplines and Public Health; and the ethical challenges related to them;
- To learn to use ethical reasoning to meet the challenges posed by social science and public health research;
- To become aware of the existing national and international guidance / guidelines on research
Learning methods: Adult learning, interactive method (number of participants restricted to 30); skill building through ethics case studies, short video/film viewing; role play; and short, focused presentations
Course participants: Faculty, research scholars and post-gradudate students from across difference schools, Tata Institute of Social Sciences, Mumbai. About 35 participants including a good number of faculty members actively participated in the workshop. Certificates were issued for completing the course
